Importing data into spreadsheets manually week after week after week is a waste of your time. Anaplan offers two fast and reusable alternatives that automate the process. Simply define your data map, click import, and get back to doing your job.

Intelligent Data Maps

Anaplan intelligently maps from text files, csv, tab separated files, or comma value separated files. Once you've defined your data map to match the structural data, Anaplan allocates the numerate data instantaneously. From then on, when new products, new reps, or new account codes come in, they're automatically flagged and sent to the right places.

Application Programming Interface

Bypass the publish/import process by connecting directly into a 3rd party Software as a Service (SaaS) system. We currently have API functionality for salesforce.com, and other direct interfaces are under development.

Export/Print

It turns out the Excel spreadsheet has a future after all: print management. In any view, just hit the "export" button, specify the pages, and you're ready to print from Excel.

Lists and Roll-Ups

Lists and Roll-Ups are groups of like items, such as people, products, and reps. In Anaplan you can change a Roll-Up and see the impact of that change throughout the app immediately. Flag, add or delete members with a click or to reorder, just drag and drop a member into its new position, and see the move reflected throughout the structure.

Line Items

The line item is the building block of any Anaplan app. It defines the logic of the application in terms of an account, a unit of measure, or a ratio. We've made adding line items and defining formulas powerfully simple. Place your cursor above or below the line item you want to add, click the insert button, and there it is. Label the line, define your formula, and Anaplan adopts it throughout the structure.

Flexible Formulae For
Differing Versions

Planned versions and actual versions frequently require different calculations. For example, consider a sample set of line items that use the formula "Unit x Price = Revenue." When you import actuals you bring in units sold and total revenue, but not the weighted average, because that price hasn't been calculated. In most systems, it's impossible to switch formulas for different versions. In Anaplan, it's simple.

Switch over Date

You've got a 12-month plan, and the first 3 months of actuals just came in. Anaplan lets you create an automatic new forecast combining the 3 months of actuals with the remaining 9 months of plan. No need to redo a forecast manually by switching and copying between your data sets.

Archiving

Old versions can be archived, locked-down, and frozen while you create new versions with different formulas and calculations.

Slicer

Anaplan's autopivot slicer brings unprecedented flexibility to your perspectives. Instead of fiddling for hours with old school pivot tables, get a new view or angle in seconds. What's more, you can play with that data "slice" to explore different scenarios.

For a new view or angle, click on the "slicer" icon and up pops the slicer menu. Drag and drop the variables you want to be your new rows and columns and voilà: a new perspective. It's never been so easy to get the insight you need.

The Blueprint

The Anaplan Blueprint expresses all the relationships of a model in one place, on one printable page. That includes formulas, formatting, treatments, balances and the relationships between each category. Get an overview of your data in seconds or tweak the model using the bird's eye-perspective.
