Partner Sales Director, Germany / Austria / Switzerland (DACH)

Alliances   Germany, Germany

Description

Partner Sales Director - Germany / Austria / Switzerland (DACH)

Is this the best pre-ipo Software opportunity in the Region?

- Location Flexible - Germany / Austria / Switzerland
- Join a company with really great technology and people
- Attractive Salary, Opportunity and pre-IPO Stock Options
- Develop Anaplan's Partner Model in DACH Region

About Anaplan.

Today, Anaplan is a very fast-growing, pre-IPO software company that is disrupting the software industry. If you know software, you may be wondering:
1. Who is this relatively young software company that is winning against Oracle, SAP and IBM?
2. How did Anaplan begin?
3. What is Anaplan really about?

I met with the Founder of Anaplan in person recently. It was interesting to listen to his views. The name Anaplan is derived from two words "Analytics" and "Planning". His vision was to create a technology platform that overcame the many problems and limitations of the existing Business Intelligence, Analytics and EPM software products.

Today, Anaplan is delivering on that vision; it has a market-leading, scalable, flexible and very fast technology platform delivering SaaS based applications. Already, hundreds of companies around the world are solving complex business problems that they knew they wanted to solve, but had not been able to do so previously with other technologies. Perhaps unusually for a software company, users love the product because it is very fast to implement and easy/enjoyable to learn and use.

The conversation with Anaplan's founder finished with a discussion on geographic expansion (new offices, new countries) and new developments to the Technology Platform (many including Predictive Analytics).

Anaplan in Germany / Austria / Switzerland.

Anaplan already has very large customers (already using Anaplan) and new customer opportunities (evaluating Anaplan) in the Region. We have small teams in each of Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Our Partner network includes small, medium and large SI's.

The Position (Partner Sales Director).

We are flexible on Location within the DACH Region. You will work from one of our existing offices or a home office or a serviced office. You will be a motivated self-starter with the skills, energy, persistence and motivation to grow a successful Anaplan Partner business. Initially, this will be a quota-carrying individual contributor position, however the position has the potential to grow into a more significant role as Anaplan grows in DACH and CEE.

Core Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of EMEA Alliances, build a world-class Partner ecosystem across the DACH Region.

You will achieve this by:

  • Building and executing a partner acquisition strategy, involving the recruitment, enablement and management of partners to drive Anaplan revenue and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Developing joint marketing campaigns and business plans with partners.
  • Engaging with targeted mid-market prospects to identify broken business processes and position Anaplan’s unique ability to solve the problem.

  • Building and maintaining a pipeline of high-quality opportunities
  • Utilising Anaplan’s value-based selling methodology, Salesforce.com and Anaplan itself to manage sales processes and accurately forecast business.
  • Driving tight alignment with new partners based on programs/contracts, that enable partners’ ability to sell the Anaplan platform and services
  • Training new partners on product implementation best practices
  • Training new partners on how to best represent Anaplan at Executive Sales and Technical events

Requirements

  • 5+ years relevant sales and/or partner sales experience
  • Experience selling SaaS
  • Experience selling EPM, ERP, BI or enterprise software solutions,
  • Strong technical aptitude to learn Anaplan solution quickly
  • Consultative selling skills
  • Ability to understand and navigate through complex political environments
  • Successful track record in quota positions and exceeding them year after year.
  • Exceptional selling, negotiating, and presentation skills.
  • A strong understanding of how distribution, sales and marketing work together to support global initiatives.

Software Engineer - Engineering Productivity

Development   York, United Kingdom

Description

Software Engineer – Engineering Productivity

Originally founded in the UK and now headquartered in San Francisco, Anaplan has offices globally. We are a rapidly expanding, $1billion Silicon Valley tech firm on a mission to revolutionise how companies analyse and plan their businesses. And it’s working – we’re already trusted by hundreds of Fortune 2000 companies and we’ve only just begun.

Anaplan is a multi award-winning, pre-IPO technology company. Our culture is open, honest and inclusive, we have Silicon Valley sensibilities, strong ties to Europe and producing seriously scalable and powerful business software.

As any company grows, it is difficult to maintain the buzz that you had with a small team moving quickly towards a common goal, and it can often feel like you’re just a cog in huge machine.

At Anaplan we want to ensure that all of our engineers get to work in that small team environment no matter how big the company grows. It’s very easy to say, but at Anaplan we are putting our money where our mouth is and investing in an Engineering Productivity team. This team will produce the glue that enables individual teams to focus on what’s important to them, and automate away all of the infrastructure work required to move code from developer’s machines into production.

This is DevOps on steroids – the Engineering Productivity team is made up of engineers following their natural instincts to write code to get jobs done. Yes, we work with tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus and AWS, but we don’t use the UI to complete a task, we write a tool – which we can then roll out to our feature teams across the globe. If you like the sound of writing tools for other developers, and being able to really understand your customer (because they are just like you) then this is the role you’ve been looking for.

As we’re working on a wide variety of jobs, you’ll have a chance to use all sorts of technologies and we always looking for ways to innovate. With this in mind we don’t have a strong list of mandatory skills – what’s most important to us this is the mindset to get things done with enthusiasm and efficiency. We like clean, well-tested code, that we can put to use asap, and continually and iteratively improve our toolset and thus the productivity of the engineering group as a whole.

Of course you want to know what technologies we use, so here are some of the languages/technologies we use and things we write:

  • Groovy, Scala
  • SpringBoot/Cloud, DropWizard, Play Framework
  • AWS, OpenStack
  • Rest/HTTP – servers and clients to common APIs like GitHub, Nexus, Jira, Jenkins etc
  • Centos, Windows, Mac, Vagrant, Docker, VirtualBox
  • Plugins for Jenkins, Jira, Nexus, Eclipse, IntelliJ etc.

Obviously experience with any or all of the above is great, but really we just want people who are really keen to make tools for other developers. In fact, it doesn’t matter whether you’re just out of university or are a hardened hacker, our primary requirement is a genuine enthusiasm for software

You’ll be someone who is not afraid to advise a company in Sales Operations one day, then HR the next. Anaplan’s Platform is diverse across multiple use cases and industries. We truly go across the entire business so you’ll need to be flexible and have at least a decent knowledge of business process. You’ll also need to know technology – cold. You’ll need to keep up on the latest ideas in the marketplace and what the Product Group is doing inside Anaplan. From data integration to modeling to business intelligence to reporting – you’ll know them all. You’ll be well connected too and will know how to bring the right resources at the right time to make customers successful.

It means you need to take all your experience in business process, technology and client management and combine them to guide and manage partners, customers or Anaplan employees to an appropriate solution. It sometimes means you’ll need to re-direct a customer, in the most tactful way possible in order for them to have a smooth implementation and experience with Anaplan.

That means you need to establish strong ties to a global partner ecosystem, as well as ties to internal resources that can help you make our ecosystem successful. This will include forging links with Executives, Product Management, Engineering and Support, to name just a few. You’ll need to be a mover and a shaker and someone who can influence people to get things done.

This entails:

  • We believe the well-rounded Anaplan Special Operations member shares these capabilities;
    • Ability to model build on the Anaplan Platform to a highly advanced level
    • Ability to design not just an Anaplan solution but take into account the wider technology solution and ecosystem
    • Converse across multiple industries and use cases
    • Ability to know adjunct technologies that support the Anaplan ecosystem
    • Ability to manage the client as well as Anaplan employees on the ground, advise on the best way to translate their business process into Anaplan and ultimately be able to guide them to success using previous best practices and ensuring we make the customer successful
    • Ability to do a forensic analysis of a model/system and quickly determine where issues exist and how we can quickly improve them
  • You will be the epitome of the ‘Anaplan Way’.
  • Understanding clients’ financial and operational management processes and transforming them into Business Requirements, then user stories then to multi-dimensional technologies.
  • Understanding how to translate what they want to do into Anaplan, not just taking an existing poor process done in XL or other tool and re-creating it in Anaplan
  • Reviewing use cases and conceiving and executing proof-of-concept models.
  • Managing numerous projects simultaneously
  • Executing work plans in global time zones, both on-site or remote
  • You’ll also be someone who can take a complex issue and break it down into simple, manageable steps or milestones
  • You’ll be able to take control of a situation

Customer Success Business Partner- East

Professional Services   New York, United States

Description

ABOUT ANAPLAN

Sure, we are leading innovation in Enterprise Planning Management software. Yes our product is arguably the most sophisticated one in its class. But our product alone does not make heroes of our customers. Our Customer Success Team does. A position on our team gives you the opportunity to take the “service” in “software as a service” to a whole new level, and enjoy rapid career growth while you’re at it.

ANAPLAN BUSINESS PARTNER

Are you a seasoned business consultant in the technology space with a yearning to change the way people plan? Do you enjoy diving into issues and designing solutions?  Are you detail-oriented yet able to communicate at a high level? Do you enjoy knowing that your work has significantly improved your client’s life?

Then this job is for you.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will drive and lead customer resources to assess, design, build and deliver commercially viable Anaplan planning and analytics solutions. Your role will be to own a portfolio of Anaplan customers and ensure their continual success. Your first order of business with a new client is to ensure a smooth and rapid first implementation in line with the processes the customer wants to manage inside the Anaplan Platform.

You’ll be someone who is not afraid to advise a company in Sales Operations one day, then HR the next. Anaplan’s Platform is diverse across multiple use cases and industries. We truly go across the entire business so you’ll need to be flexible and have at least a decent knowledge of business process.

It means you need to take all your experience in business process, technology and client management and combine them to guide and manage the customer to an appropriate solution. It sometimes means you need to re-direct a customer in the most tactful way possible in order for them to have a smooth first implementation. You also need to ‘teach the customer to fish’. It means you need to make them self-sufficient so that they can expand beyond their first process in Anaplan and quickly make Anaplan their spine of decision making in the business.

You also need to build your village. Very quickly you need to establish a set of resources that can help you make the portfolio of customers you are responsible for, successful. That means you need to establish strong ties to your local partner ecosystem, as well as ties to internal resources that can help you make your customers successful. This will include forging links with Executives, Product Management, Engineering and Support, to name just a few. You’ll need to be a mover and a shaker and someone who can influence people to get things done.

This entails:

  • We believe the well-rounded Anaplan Business Partner shares these 3 capabilities;
  • Ability to model build on the Anaplan Platform to an advanced level
  • Ability to design not just an Anaplan solution but take into account the wider technology solution and ecosystem
  • Ability to manage the client, advise on the best way to translate their business process into Anaplan and ultimately be able to guide the customer to success using previous best practices and ensuring we make the customer successful
  • Managing numerous projects simultaneously, adhering to SOW’s, Project Milestones, etc.
  • Executing work plans in global time zones, both on-site or remote
  • You’ll also be someone who can take a complex issue and break it down into simple, manageable steps or milestones

COMMON TRAITS OF AN ANAPLAN BUSINESS PARTNER

  • Business Acumen
  • Persuasiveness
  • Resilience
  • Calmness
  • Methodical
  • Innovative
  • Intelligent
  • Articulate
  • Active listener

REQUIREMENTS

  • An advanced degree, such as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in consulting
