Ganapathy SirgunavelToday, we are pleased to introduce you to the latest Anaplan DISRUPTOR – Gana Sirgunavel.

Gana is based out of Anaplan’s Malaysian office, and he manages our growth in the Malaysian and Thailand market.

We had a chance to catch up with Gana this week. He shared his thoughts on what joining Anaplan means to him and how he intends to spread our Disruption to others.

1. In one word, how would you describe Anaplan? 


2. How is Anaplan a disruptor?

Anaplan is changing how organizations do business and execute on plans. We are leading the way in this space in terms of providing a truly innovative and robust technology that enables business users across companies to manage and maintain their own models. The Anaplan platform itself is amazing. As a cloud-based, in-memory platform Anaplan is disrupting the traditional business modeling and planning space, and this is being verified as more and more companies migrate their solutions onto our platform.

3. What most excites you about Anaplan?

The people! There is a high level of energy, a genuine passion, and another level of enthusiasm that I have not seen at other companies.

4. Why is the market ready for a shift?

Legacy vendors are not meeting the needs of their customers. As a result, companies are rapidly replacing their legacy and ad hoc excel solutions. Customers are getting tired of the long decision cycles, heavy capital investments, and expensive consulting bills that traditionally come with working with the enterprise software giants. Decision makers and business users want a simple, easy-to-use tool that offers fast implementation and costs less than their legacy (often on-premise) solutions. That is where Anaplan shines!

5. Why are you a disruptor?

I truly believe in the power of following your heart and passion. I actually give motivational speeches about this to new students at universities in Malaysia. I try to apply this thinking to my business dealings. I am incredibly conscious to the needs of our customers, and I make it my priority to ensure they get the most value for their money. I want to make it easy for them. It’s not only about the bottom line … I always do the right thing for the customer and the company.
