Decompression Alley: Drinks at Dusk after Dreamforce

More than 200 invited guests walked through the outdoor Anaplan archway, past a fearsomely imposing (but friendly) bouncer, and into Hunt Lane, an old San Francisco alley converted into a wonderland of lights, music, food, and drinks.

Welcome to the Anaplan Drinks at Dusk, an exclusive Anaplan happy hour reception that took place on the evening of September 15th, just outside of Moscone Center where Dreamforce 2015 was being held.

This laidback street party was an oasis amid the helter skelter of Dreamforce 2015 Day 1 and provided our guests with a welcome respite. But more than that, Drinks at Dusk gave Anaplan customers, prospects, and partners the chance to network with the Anaplan team and each another—all within a fun, friendly, and informal atmosphere.

As the sky got darker and the Drinks at Dusk party lights got brighter, the relaxed crowd melted onto the comfortable outdoor lounge furniture or mingled at the matching wooden bar while socializing over delicious treats like sliders, flatbreads, and of course, free cocktails. The excitement was obvious to the hundreds of Dreamforce attendees passing by, many of whom inquired about what was going on and if they could join the crowd.

But, in the end, was Drinks at Dusk a success? Clearly, a fun time was had by all. Most telling were comments from the Anaplan sales reps themselves who felt that this was by far the best happy hour reception ever hosted by Anaplan. And guests remarked how impressed they were by the remarkable transformation of a non-assuming side alley into an engaging event space. The reception offered a perfect blend of a memorable venue, fun and relaxed ambiance, upbeat music, and excitement-building for the rest of the week at Dreamforce. And the crowd definitely wanted to keep it going.

Alas, the party did indeed come to a close—but there’s always next year. Perhaps we’ll see you at the next Drinks at Dusk!
