Anaplan, provider of a market-leading platform for business planning and decision-making, today announced the appointment of Dan Koellhofer to the position of senior vice president of Applications for Sales Performance.

Koellhofer, a tenured B2B sales and product leader, joins Anaplan from ScaleGrid, where he served as Chief Product Officer for the multi-cloud DBaaS provider. Before ScaleGrid, Koellhofer held sales, product, and innovation leadership roles at SparkCognition and First Advantage (acquired by Silver Lake) and spent more than a decade at CallidusCloud (acquired by SAP) leading the product and worldwide technical sales organizations. In his new role, Koellhofer will leverage his extensive SaaS background to help Anaplan roll out pre-configured planning applications for sales and revenue leaders.

Today’s announcement comes on the heels of several exciting product leadership appointments for Anaplan. The company, which counts brands like ServiceNow, Sephora, and Jaguar Land Rover, as customers, elevated Adam Thier to the role of Chief Product and Technology Officer in November before welcoming Yuri Polyakov to the team as svp of Applications for Finance and Workforce Planning. Under Thier’s leadership, Anaplan introduced several new and enhanced product offerings in 2023, including Workflow, Geo-Mapping, Polaris, and custom application for Territory & Quota planning.

“It’s an exciting time to join the Product and Technology team at Anaplan,” said Thier. “We’re moving at a rapid clip to introduce innovations that will deliver outsized value to businesses around the world as they work to keep up with the realities of a turbulent market. Dan knows what it takes to be an agile product leader, and I have no doubt his SaaS product and sales expertise will help us build and market a suite of best- in-class applications tailored to the needs of today’s Chief Revenue Officer.”

“Apps will be a market differentiator for Anaplan,” said Bill Schuh, Chief Revenue Officer at Anaplan. “With best-in-class sales performance applications built on our powerful planning platform, our customers can get up and running quickly with pre-configured best practices to address their complex challenges with speed and confidence. I look forward to working with Dan to develop sales performance apps that meet the most pressing GTM planning and sales performance needs of sales and revenue leaders around the world.”

Building on the success of the company’s existing Territory & Quota Planning application, Koellhofer will be responsible for designing a blueprint for a suite of out-of-the-box applications for sales and revenue leaders. The apps will cover gaps in existing sales execution systems by helping teams get up and running faster with vetted best practices that will enhance their organization’s go-to-market strategy.

“Sales and revenue leaders have been put to the test in recent years as the reality of an unpredictable economy exposed cracks in the growth at all costs mindset,” said Koellhofer. “To drive profitable growth these leaders need tools that can help them execute strong go-to-market strategies, identify new revenue streams, and build motivating yet attainable quotas for their sellers. With the right mix of applications, we have the opportunity to help sales and revenue leaders meet and exceed their targets, and I look forward to working with the team to bring those sales performance applications to life.”

Koellhofer graduated with honors from the University of Michigan earning a degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science.
