Anaplan names Jim Freeze as Chief Marketing Officer to propel brand recognition in the company’s next phase of growth

Anaplan, provider of a market-leading platform for business planning and decision-making, today announced the appointment of Jim Freeze to the position of Chief Marketing Officer. A tenured leader with a proven track record across marketing, sales, and business development, Jim will join Anaplan’s Executive Committee and report to the company’s CEO, Charlie Gottdiener.

Freeze brings a wealth of experience to the position, with more than 25 years in revenue-focused executive leadership roles for SaaS, AI, security, and telecom companies. In addition to serving as Chief Commercial Officer for fiber management SaaS leader VETRO, Freeze was the Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at internet service provider Genuity, where he played a central role in the company’s $1.9 billion IPO. He also led successful rebranding efforts for AI pioneer Interactions, and contact center leader Aspect Software, and was the host of a highly rated AI podcast, the ConversAItion. As Chief Marketing Officer, Freeze is poised to play a pivotal role in redefining Anaplan’s brand positioning as the company embarks on its next phase of growth.

“The SaaS landscape continues to evolve as new advancements in technology are introduced to meet the changing needs of businesses. It’s a noisy environment, and an adept marketing organization is more critical than ever to establish a unique and impactful brand identity,” said Charlie Gottdiener, CEO of Anaplan. “Jim is a dynamic, high-energy leader with the expertise required to further strengthen and elevate Anaplan’s brand and value proposition as we work to deliver the promise of the agile connected enterprise for our customers. We’re thrilled to have him onboard.”

Anaplan, which counts brands like AB InBev, On Running, Bayer, and LinkedIn as customers, is well regarded by industry analysts for its ability to connect critical data from across an organization, arming decision-makers with a complete view of their company’s daily financial and operational realities. This level of connectedness enables leaders to make more confident decisions for their business – from forecasting inventory with an unparalleled level of accuracy to building realistic territories and quotas to motivate sellers. In his new role, Freeze will be responsible for amplifying Anaplan’s outsized value across a wide range of industries and business functions.

“It’s an incredibly exciting time to join Anaplan as CMO,” said Freeze. “After years of volatility, business leaders now recognize how critical connectedness is to their ability to make agile, data-driven decisions – and how the accuracy of those decisions ties directly to their bottom line. Anaplan delivers that connectedness in a user-friendly, cloud-native platform that’s packed with insights, best practices, and innovative features. I am thrilled at the opportunity to bring even more awareness to the company’s unique value proposition.”

Freeze earned a BS and an MA in Mathematics from The Ohio State University and a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law and Graduate Center. He resides in South Florida and serves as a Board Trustee for the Miami City Ballet.
