Grid operator Stedin Group is powering the transition to renewable energy in the Netherlands. Success in this business requires confidence that your technical skills and equipment can meet ever-changing operational demands. Stedin Group uses Anaplan for financial planning, workforce planning, supply chain planning, and asset management. This enables the company to make decisions that accelerate the business now and in the future.

With Anaplan, we were able to see what our supply was — how many engineers, how many technicians — and match that with the operational demand.

Tibo Bouter, Stedin Group: Stedin is the third-largest regional grid operator in the Netherlands. We build, manage, and maintain electricity and gas distribution network for a large part of the Netherlands. Stedin is at the heart of the energy transition. We want to make the transition to renewable energy. We have to expand our grid, digitalize our grid, make better use of our network.

We use Anaplan for our financial planning, but also for our asset management, our workforce, and supply chain planning.

Before Anaplan, our decision-making was slow. We were working in silos. We had difficulties in communicating.

Anaplan helped us not only handing over data, which was really time-consuming, but getting conversation with the various departments and speeding up that process.

With Anaplan, we were able to see what our supply was — how many engineers, how many technicians — and match that with the operational demand. Our decision-making is faster. It’s more consistent.

Anaplan really shaped the way I look at finance. Finance is not only about the numbers, but also about the data, the process, and the connection with the business.

I am Tibo Bouter, Manager, Group Control at Stedin, and we plan with Anaplan.
