doTERRA is a health and wellness company that’s based on helping the world heal and we do that through sourcing some of the best products and the best ingredients with our natural-based solutions with essential oils and other health and wellness products.
It takes us years to grow the plants that we have, and so the complexity that is inherent with that supply chain just means we have such a long planning horizon.
We use Anaplan across our business, specifically in the supply chain. We do demand planning — so all of our unit forecasting, all of our inventory planning. Since we’ve implemented Anaplan over these last six months, we have seen our forecast accuracy improve by 20 percentage points. Literally a night-and-day difference.
With Anaplan, we’ve really been able to become so much more efficient. We were forecasting around 4,000 SKUs. Now, we forecast about 8,000 SKUs in about 10 more markets than we did because Anaplan really makes it easy.
At doTERRA, I have gotten the nickname of Captain Anaplan because I’m just too enthusiastic about it sometimes. I think that it’s so awesome to see the technology, front and center, solving problems that I’ve been trying to wrap my brain around for the past seven years, and I just can’t get enough of it.
