France-based Saur provides municipal water services, industrial water treatment, and engineering infrastructure worldwide. Each year the company analyzes 5,000 complex contracts for profitability and classifies the revenue from those contracts on a multi-year basis. Moving contract profitability analysis to Anaplan has delivered a direct positive impact on Saur’s profitability and improved the collective dynamic between the finance team and the company’s contractors.

Since using Anaplan, we can see contracts becoming profitable, so it is a direct impact on the P&L.

Djibrilla Seydou: Saur Group is a leading international player in the water industry and employs around 12,000 people worldwide.

We use Anaplan in the finance department for budgeting, financial forecasting and contract profitability management. We are in a fast-moving environment, and we need systems that are flexible, adaptable, that can take into consideration the business requirements.

One of our Anaplan use cases is contract profitability management. Anaplan helps the company with financial performance by identifying the contracts that need to be renegotiated. We have more than 5,000 that we analyze each year. Without Anaplan, it will be very complicated to consolidate all of our contracts and to classify the revenue through several years. Since using Anaplan, we can see contracts becoming profitable, so it is a direct impact on the P&L.

What we are really proud of since using Anaplan is the collective dynamic this tool creates between the finance team and the contractors. Also, the collaboration across the finance team during the budget process phase, which at times could be difficult.

I am Djibrilla Seydou, Head of Finance Transformation at Saur Group, and we plan with Anaplan.
