With its huge scale — 85,000 students and 8,000 staff — the University of New South Wales (UNSW) needs to carefully plan for its future. A ten-year student load forecast built in Anaplan enables UNSW Sydney to make sure the right people, facilities, and resources are ready for its growing student population. With Anaplan, planning cycle times are reduced, collaboration is increased, and rich details make forecasts more accurate and useful for university planners.

Kevin Hart, Senior Analyst, UNSW Sydney: The University of New South Wales is based in eastern Australia. We have approximately 85,000 students, over 8,000 staff and globally we are ranked within the top 20 universities.

We use Anaplan for student load forecasting, which is a 10-year outlook for the university in relation to the number of students and the amount of study undertaken by those students. We then use this forecast to plan for the future of the entire university.

With the implementation of Anaplan and the ability to have live updates to our forecast, we have reduced our planning cycle time and allowed our users to incorporate richer forecasting details into their estimates of the future. As a result, we've seen greater levels of collaboration across various areas, various divisions within the university in terms of improving their processes as they relate to aspects of student forecasting.

I'm most proud of our work using Anaplan in our ability to take challenges from our stakeholders, build a solution, and present that back to the stakeholders in a way that exceeds their expectations.

I'm Kevin Hart, Senior Analyst at the University of New South Wales and we plan with Anaplan.
