New year, new model builder: Best practices to getting started with Anaplan

Are you new to building models in Anaplan? Here are five resources and best practices that will get you set up for success and increase your knowledge of Anaplan.

Learning Center

Our enablement team has developed fundamentals and advanced training to assist you with your Anaplan development. Our Learning Center is conveniently broken down into levels that you can choose from, based on your level of interaction with the platform. There are trainings specifically created for end users, as well as more involved trainings if you are proactively building in Anaplan. The more courses you take, the more you know!

Anapedia

From release information in the “What’s New” section, to the Community Forum where you can pose a question to Anaplan experts, Anapedia is a bookmark-worthy site. The area I use most frequently is the Calculation Functions. This is a comprehensive list of functions available in Anaplan and a great reference for any model builder. Most functions in the list include examples and also assist with formatting to help reduce errors and improve your understanding of the calculations available.

Start building!

I have always been a person that learns best with a more hands-on approach. Don’t hesitate to start building once you have the foundational knowledge. If you are a customer, utilize the Anaplan guru hours to ensure that you are keeping your model optimized while you are independently building.

Data Integration Site

Data integration is a key part of any implementation. View data integration options, understand the benefits, and make an informed decision using this site. If you run into any issues, pose a question to the site or search the forum to see if someone else had the same question!

Webinars

Anaplan holds at least one webinar per month for model builder tips and tricks. This is a great way to continue your learning and ask any questions you might have. Sign up for our next Tip & Trick webinar. Additionally, to help you stay informed we also hold webinars with every new Anaplan release.
