Anaplan Experiences Viral Customer Adoption of Performance Management Applications

Global Customer Wins and Explosive Growth in Year-Over-Year Bookings

SAN FRANCISCO, July 31, 2012 – Privately-held Anaplan, the company revolutionizing enterprise performance management solutions, closed Q2 2012 with dramatic bookings growth, and extended the reach of its community of “citizen developers” with the launch of the Anaplan Community. Anaplan also secured analyst accolades in Q2, including the company’s inclusion in the list of “Cool Vendors” in the Finance and Procurement, 2012 report by Gartner, Inc.

“Our Q2 results are validating our approach to this class of business problem,” said Matt Howard, VP of Products at Anaplan. “Our solution is creating a paradigm shift in the industry, enabling business users to deploy rich planning and analytic applications in days, instead of the months it takes with traditional tools. Enterprises are shifting their mindset to embrace cloud-based solutions that provide quicker time-to-value.“
Significant Traction in the Enterprise

In Q2, Anaplan experienced more than three times YOY total bookings growth vs. Q2 2011. More than 2100 new user licenses of Anaplan were added through direct and partner channels in Q2. Anaplan continued to extend the reach, gaining a strategic role within sales and finance departments at global enterprises such as McAfee, SalesForce, Taylor Wimpey, and Central European Media Enterprises, among others. Customers are recognizing value with a range of applications such as quota management, territory management, workforce planning, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.

Anaplan’s Community site is also seeing amazing user adoption from their “citizen developers” who have unlimited access to valuable content that is provided as part of the Anaplan service. By offering a specialized peer-to-peer forum, users can collaborate, easily share ideas, and build applications. The Anaplan Community has fostered viral growth not only inside a user’s own enterprise, but also throughout the global community of “Anaplanners”. Howard says, “we are seeing customers go well beyond the apps they initially subscribe to and add their own apps, delivering literally millions of dollars in value to their companies.”

Observations of Anaplan’s technology by Mark Smith, CEO and Chief Research Officer at Ventana Research, included, “Anaplan has demonstrated leadership not only in technology, but in real-world deployments where the accuracy and immediacy of not just analyzing but modeling and planning are critical for business. Anaplan’s cloud and in-memory computing approach with its patented Hyperblock™ Architecture platform provides a solid foundation for analysts and business professionals to go beyond traditional business analytics.”

“Applying elegant solutions to solve critical performance management problems faced by today’s enterprise remains our hallmark. It is extremely satisfying to see our innovations continue to make their way into established business focused organizations. We are bullish about carrying this momentum forward,” concluded Michael Gould, Anaplan’s CTO.
